“Color! This is where the inspiration for this styled shoot came from. It felt like a long winter here in Manitoba and we were all longing for color. The idea of blending pinks, corals, peaches and oranges a typical wedding palette, but after the magic that Stonehouse Creative made, it should be!!
Stonehouse Creative was a natural choice to include in the shoot, both for her incredible design sense but also her fearlessness when it comes to playing with color in florals. I know that I can always trust Lauren to take any ideas and expand them beautifully. Adding in a ceremony location was her idea and it was executed perfectly. I love the wild and overgrown feel of the greens that suit the space so well.
The color palette had a real Mediterranean feel to me so I played that up with the pop of blue (which is still a very relevant color for weddings this year), rustic bread, olives and olive oil. Location – The Trappist Monastery Ruins – was a natural choice as here in Winnipeg there aren’t many spaces that have an abandoned villa feel that I feel pulled all the details together.
I love that Casey Nolin Photography is always up for any of my crazy ideas and embraces them full stop. Her selection of the stunning Chic Nostalgia dress was perfect as were her real life couple that modeled for the day. Her photography style is a perfect blend of light and romantic and really brought this inspiration to life.
I hope you love it as much as we do!”
